Warsaw Metro Carriages Events Recorder




Introduction:

    Registration system in Warsaw Metro is use to traffic parameters and train technical conditions analysis. Fundamental goal: failures detection, increase of transport safety as well as improvement effectivity of exploitation. Next goal: forecasting’s and planning’s necessary repairs and maintenance, using technical parameters recorded on line and well-known statistics of damages. Another very important application aspect - evidential aspect in cases of coming into being of dangerous events, thus it works similar as well as popular "black box" in aircrafts.

Recorder ATM-QR-4 (Russian carriages):

    ATM and Warsaw Metro Co. cooperation is dated on the first half of 90th years, when delivered first Russian-carriages. They were machine-equipped (by machinery) in adapted directly from aviations, registration system called BUR. In spite that this system was technically obsolete and unreliable in exploitation, it determined significant progress in vehicles rail parameters registration sphere, where used simple tachograph. On account above-mentioned reason, looked for substitutional product of Russian system. Chose ATM-QR4 recorder. ATM and Warsaw Metro specialists adapted recorder to specifics conditions. Together with delivered specialistic software to data analysis’s ATM-MDS created modern exploitation supervised system. This is absolutely unique solution in national scale and reason to prides ATM and Warsaw Metro Co.

Warsaw Metro Carriages Events Recorder:

    In second half of 90th years decided to complete (and in futures to replace) Warsaw metro rolling stock on modern western production carriages. After positive experiences with registration system on Russian carriages, decided that new carriages will be equipped in analogical system. As system purveyor again chose ATM Co. In the beginning planned to use ATM-QR4 recorder identical like in Russian carriages). However on account range registered of parameters and new carriage specificity of construction, decided to create new device. In spite external likenesses with ATM-QR4 (dimensions) this is completely new device. Recorder stopped to act as data registration only and became carriage information system element. During work recorder transfers some parameters (e.g. time) to main steering system (Train Integrated Management System - TIMS). At the same time, recorder is a junctive platform. Recorder joins TIMS system with Polish Reduction Speed system SOP-2. (Manufacturer of some SOP-2 modules is ATM). Only common element is recording block (memory cassette ATM-MC5) owing to behaved data carrier compatibility between" new" and "old" Warsaw metro carriages.
